Seven Hills Public School
Solar Case Study
This primary school is in the Seven Hills suburb of NSW and offers community-based support for families who find it a challenge to juggle childcare with other parental duties. It has before and after school care for students so electricity demands start early and finish late.
With only 150 students, the solar installation was completed in March 2019 to power some of the classrooms as a first step towards full sustainability. The system will offset a large portion of the school’s bills through Spring, Summer and Autumn. Winter is always a challenge with electric heating adding to the costs but the solar has still cut the bills by a third.
