Smart Energy Answers played a key role over the past year in the testing and development of this newly released SolarEdge Inverter with Built-in EV Charging. It comes with all the features of standard SolarEdge inverters (click here) but adds this fantastic charging feature for current and future EV owners. We found the ‘plug and play’ device easy to use and quick to charge, with the monitoring App providing instant and accurate  information.

Although new on the market, we’ve already installed quite a number of these inverters for our customers and the feedback has been really positive. The best news is that our installers are so proficient at setting them up, we haven’t had to return to site to resolve any operational issues. Currently the inverter comes in 3kW and 5kW single phase versions. It can be used in bigger systems by integrating it with 1 or 2 standard SolarEdge inverters, and it will combine all the power to run your home or business and charge your battery and/or EV.

You will be protected by a 12 year warranty on the inverter and charger, and a fabulous 25 years on the Individual Power Optimisers installed under each panel.

Homeowners will enjoy seamless integration with the SolarEdge monitoring platform where they can track charging status, control vehicle charging, and set charging schedules. Monitoring features include:

• Charge from the grid during off-peak hours with smart Time of Use (TOU) scheduling
• Track solar, EV, and grid consumption for visibility and control of household energy usage
• Turn charging on and off remotely via the mobile app
• View charging duration, charge energy, and solar charge status
• Easy inverter commissioning directly through your smartphone using the SetApp mobile application
