Northern Beaches Secondary College
Solar Case Study
The Cromer Campus is part of the Northern Beaches Secondary College system, which maintains five campuses for secondary students in New South Wales.
Following the renewable push in Australia, and utilising a Department of Education grant, the school chose to install solar on their Cromer Campus as an example of sustainability for its students, as well as to protect the institution from the volatility of the conventional energy market.
Installation of their solar energy system was completed on July 8, 2019. It is anticipated that the current power bills will be more than halved.
With the stage set for Northern Beaches Secondary College to make significant energy cost savings and reduce the school’s carbon footprint, the future could soon see the other campuses install medium-scale solar systems as well.
