Northern Beaches Secondary College (Cromer Campus) 30.2 kW Solar Power

Challenge

• Utilise the NSW Department of Education grant
• To lead by example in their sustainability initiatives

Solution

• The school will be energy positive with 106 Canadian Solar (285 W) panels which brings their total PV capacity to 30.2 kW.
• The solar power system also features the SMA Sunny Tripower inverter to further increase the efficiency of the system.
  
  

Result

• Solar PV system installation was completed on July 8, 2019, and power bills are expected to be more than halved.
• Significant cost savings generated and successfully
  reduced the school’s carbon footprint.
• The estimated savings per annum is AU $6,975.
• Their return on investment is expected to be 4.6 years.
